John Stephen Akhwari
This is the motivating story of John Stephen Akhwari a Tanzanian Olympian who struggled to complete the 1968 Olympic marathon after he fell during the race cutting and dislocating his knee. As he pushed himself through the pain and 1 hour after the race had already been won, John Stephen Akhwari finished the race. When asked by a reporter why he didn’t quit he replied “My country did not send me to 5,000 miles to Mexico City to start the race. They sent me 5,000 miles to finish the race.”
1996 Altanta Olympics – Kerri Strug’s Gold Medal Vault (click for video)
Watch this video of one of the most inspiring moments from Olympics past. U.S. gymnast Kerri Strug is performing the Vault in the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. On her first vault she hurts her ankle on the landing. We later find out that she has a moderate sprain. With this sprain she shouldn’t vault again. However, with tremendous courage she performs the vault and even with the hurt ankle she wins the Gold! Amazing! Now that is the stuff heroes are made of!

This is awesome and so adorable. This toddler (Will) was with his family and a bunch of Philly fans outside of City Hall when his parents wanted to get a picture in front of the crowds. When little Will raised his arms in the air the crowd roared with cheers! Will continued to raise and lower his arms taking the crowds cheers with him. Read more
