In a post on Google +, Google has given us a preview of its Android powered augmented reality glasses that project information and entertainment in the lenses. The slick point-of-view video below demonstrates some of the capabilities of the glasses.
There is no definite date when they will be made available to the public. According to Huffington Post, a Google spokesman indicated that it is unlikely the glasses will be ready by the end of 2012.
I find this video to be inspiring as it demonstrates that we are continuing to push the envelope with technology. I also love the competition. Roger McNamee, who is a founding partner along with Bono of Elevation Partners, speaking to Bloomberg about Microsoft and Google said, “I don’t think these guys are going to roll over and let Apple own things forever.” Is this Google’s attempt to steal some of Apple’s thunder?
