On July 24th 2010 a BBC camera crew arrived at Yorkshire Air Ambulance HQ to film the team as part of the Helicopter Heroes series.

Shortly before 7am, emergency medical dispatcher, Chris Solomons, arrived at work feeling unwell. Chris’s colleagues assessed him and it quickly became apparent he was suffering from a massive heart attack. Read more

In this remarkable video that was filmed out the coast near Wollongong in southern New South Wales, Australia in 2003, we see an amazing rescue of a whale shark. The animal approaches a fishing boat to ask for help as it had been entangled by a rope and needed help to get it off. One of the fishermen, Joe Sciberras, got into the water with a knife and was able to cut the whale shark free, saving its life.  Read more

Neil Harbisson was born with achromatopsia, a rare condition that causes complete colour blindness. In 2004, Harbisson and Adam Montandon developed the eyeborg, a device that translates colours into sounds. Read more

Halverson said it was challenging to make the video because it was difficult to get good storms with stars.  Read more
