This is an amazing story about nine year old Rachel Beckwith’s birthday wish to raise $300 so 15 people could have clean drinking water. She came up a little short and told her mom she would try harder next year. Unfortunately, Rachel was killed in an automobile accident and didn’t make it to her tenth birthday.
Word spread about her birthday wish and $1.2 million was raised over the course of the next month. Because of this incredible generosity, 60,000 of the world’s most needy in 100 villages will now have clean drinking water.
In this video we see Rachel’s mom and other members of her family go to Ethiopia to witness first hand the impact of Rachel’s wish.
